Prospective longitudinal cohort study children with visual impairments (PLoCC-VI)

With financial support of the ‘Stichting tot Verbetering van het Lot der Blinden’ [the foundation to enhance the fate of the blind]  for a four-year PhD project in collaboration with Royal Visio and Bartiméus a longitudinal cohort study will be set up. Goal is to get an up-to-date description of the course of development of children with visual impairments and to relate this to somatic, psychological, and social factors in the lives of these children. The main research question is Dome children (0-21 years of age) with a visuals impairment dwell well in terms of quality of life, others less. Where do these individual differences originate, how can we describe them and can we predict them in terms of child, family and context factors.
